A NEW BOOK BY DAN ALBAUM
THe
GIVING
EDGE
Why putting others first creates a lasting advantage in leadership, business, and life.
After years of conversations with leaders, founders, educators, and changemakers, Dan Albaum began noticing a pattern:
The people who created the most meaningful success were often the ones least focused on themselves.
The Giving Edge explores how generosity, trust, and contribution can become powerful drivers of leadership, influence, and long-term success.
There’s an old story about two wolves battling inside every person.
One is driven by fear, scarcity, and self-interest.
The other by generosity, courage, and care for others.
Which one wins?
The one you feed.
The Giving Edge is about what happens when leaders choose to feed the second one. Not simply because it is virtuous, but because it changes relationships, builds trust, and creates lasting impact.
THe Wolf you Feed
WHY I WROTE THIS
Over the course of my career, I kept encountering the same kind of people.
Leaders who built trust instead of chasing attention.
People who created opportunity for others.
Individuals whose impact came not just from ambition, but from generosity, mentorship, and contribution.
And over time, I began to realize something important:
Many of the people who create the most meaningful success are also the people most committed to helping others succeed.
This book grew out of those observations — and out of conversations with remarkable individuals whose stories reinforced the idea that generosity is not weakness in leadership or business.
It can be a genuine advantage.
WHat The book explores
01
Leadership Through Contribution
The strongest leaders often focus first on helping others grow, succeed, and thrive.
02
Trust Creates Opportunity
Trust compounds over time —
shaping relationships, influence, and long-term success.
03
A Different Definition of Success
The Giving Edge challenges the idea that achievement must come at the expense of others.
"All of us have something to give each other — no matter what our title."
